Pnyx (pronounced ‘Pin-iks’) is an Australian software company established in 2012 by Juan Pereyra to create digital solutions tailored to the community services sector.

Juan has decades of experience working on major IT projects across Argentina, Brazil and Australia. During his time on a significant project focused on community care, he became aware of the technology shortfall facing this rapidly changing sector.

He saw people struggling with paperwork and manual processes, drawn away from what they do best: helping vulnerable people. He was inspired to develop technology based on social interaction to enhance multidisciplinary care management: and thus the platform was born.

Where does the name come from? The Pnyx is a hill in Greece where the people of ancient Athens would gather together: it was literally a platform, where people could stand and speak openly. Transparency, collaboration and community are at the heart of Pnyx’s approach to software.
